Metallic Apparition

With conversion blood in both parents, this is one of the most mesmerizing flowers in the entire garden.

The large 7" flowers have excellent substance and outstanding 33" scapes. The self- color is a bright gold with a large yellow green applique throat, but is the patterned eye that makes this a unique daylily.

The eye color is a silver lavender which has a metallic pearl like reflection, this pattern is also well displayed on the sepals. A stunning flower that is nicely pod fertile, which is part considering the parentage

While I know there are many other red eye and edged daylilies out there, this cultivar has no equal.

The 6 ½” flowers have an excellent round shape. The self color is a beautiful strawberry pink.  But it is the eye and edge of deep velvety blood red that sets this flower apart.  The edge can exceed 3/4” and is very ruffled. As a parent its kids are unlike any others. Unfortunately I have very few to release and when Barbara Burkhart heard her namesake was being released, she snapped up 10 of them.  I onlyl have 30 left so order early.

Freaky Good

Virtually every aspect of this rare beauty is FREAKISHLY GO0D.

The beautiful foliage is very low and thin, most importantly this Daylily multiplies very quickly and this has allowed me to introduce Freaky Good a year early.

• Mrs. William Kemble du Pont (1876-1951) was one of America’s foremost horticulturists. Her collection of orchids, peonies, daylilies and other plants are legend. Likewise her expertise as a plant hybridizer and conservator of plants was known and appreciated throughout the world.
• This flower is a large, flat, full flower with extremely iridescent deep fuchsia rose color. The seedlings from MRS. WILLIAM KEMBLE du PONT are proving to be generations ahead of what I normally see in the garden.  This is a great parent plant.

ORCHID SATIN

• ORCHID SATIN is a very beautiful, clean rose-lavender flower with extremely thick substance held on very strong well-branched scapes.   The flower is unusual in that the color is very clean and intense with a velvety satin finish.

• This is one of the most beautiful clear iridescent pinks I have seen.  In my mother’s garden in North Carolina, under cooler Spring temperatures, the flower sometimes has a slight coral undertone.  The extreme heavy ruffling makes this plant a true standout.

PONKAN ORANGE

• This is a great combination of Sweet Ole Man and Apache Sunset.  The flowers are large, round and flat with beautiful blunt sepals coming through all the way back from one of its great grandparents, Tet Linda Agin.  The color is a beautiful, intense golden orange with a deep green throat.
