Tavares Lucky Charm is the latest and best in a series of large clear flowers on killer scapes.
A visitor to the garden in early spring saw all the massive scapes but no open flowers; he told me, "I want one of these I don't care what the flower looks like." Fortunately, the flower is equally beautiful. The flowers are large, ultra round and of heavy substance. The self-color is cream-white with a touch of yellow. A large green throat is surrounded by a bright magenta eye with a very ruffled petal edge of magenta and gold.
This daylily is very fertile pod.
